Mobile Shopping increased around 10 times the norm during Christmas 2012
?Cyber Monday? as it is being known now, marking the start of the Christmas shopping season, had experts making predictions regarding online shopping. Tablets and Mobiles were said to be the most popular method for online shoppers on the run up to the festive season. Cyber Monday was said to be probably the biggest day of online shopping the UK has known. Some retailers reported increases of around ten times during the same period in 2011 which is a significant?upturn in the number of sales on mobile devices. The power of shopping whilst mobile and out and about is now so apparent, we should not ignore the fact at all and embrace it with open arms. For that is where the business lies.
Shoppers try to combine the convenience of mobile along with as much cost cutting as they can, comparing products and services and even socially networking ideas and opinions. It?s all changing very rapidly now.
Mobile shopping has become more popular now than shopping from a desktop PC. Around 4 out of 5 mobile owners use theirs to do business online! This is a new era of internet shoppers and the wave is not yet at its peak. The biggest reason for using the mobile device is the convenience of it all. People can make their choices wherever they happen to be at the time.
Not only is mobile shopping becoming the vogue, using your mobile to find and locate local businesses like restaurants, hairdressers, breakdown services, beauty salons, bars & clubs etc etc., is fast becoming extremely popular. However, what comes up on the mobile screen needs to be easy to operate and navigate and most regular web sites can not be used properly on such a small screen.
So? this is a big blow to businesses relying on their web sites for advertising and sales.
The way around this is to have a mobile website designed specifically for mobile phones. It runs alongside your regular web site and has special coding to detect the mobile browsers. Could?t be easier, especially if someone sorts all this out for you!
Those businesses who are requiring their first web site, or are thinking of a complete overhaul and redesign, would be in a position to have one ?responsive? web site, which simply reacts to each device and sets itself accordingly.
Mobile useage is increasing so fast these days. Online businesses without a mobile facility will have been left behind last Christmas. It?s quite simple maths.
