Tips On Article Marketing and SEO Content Writing | The Board ...

SEO content writing is an important aspect of promoting any website, and article marketing is a good way to advertise a website or blog and to generate backlinks. However there are provisos attached both to content writing and article marketing, so here are some tips to help you avoid the most common errors.

1. Cut the Keywords

Too many people use too many keywords in their content. Google takes keyword spamming seriously, and Matt Cutts, Google?s webspam guru, suggests focusing on writing naturally rather than on going for a specific keyword density. Many use up to 3% but that is definitely too much: that is 15 instances in a 500 word article!

Multiple word keyphrases should take up no more than 1.5% of the word count, while for single or two word keywords, 0.8% ? 1.0% is fine. Google?s LSI algorithm can establish the meaning of your content from the associated text, particularly that which is semantically related to the keyword.

If you listen to Matt Cutts, he suggests that keyword density is largely irrelevant and that you should write naturally about your subject. Google?s algorithms are sufficiently sophisticated these days to establish the relevance of your content writing from the vocabulary used without artificial repetition of specific words or phrases.

Simply having the words ?SEO,? ?content? and ?writing? in any order in the text will enable your page to be ranked for the term ?SEO content writing.?

2. Write Your SEO Content Well

Content writing is a skill, and it is important that you have a good grasp of grammar. You grammar is now under scrutiny. Ezine articles no longer accepts poorly written articles, and your grammar should be good in both your on-page content and in any content writing intended for article marketing.

Search engines are now seeking out pages with poor grammar and spelling- bad English is no longer acceptable post-Penguin. Word count is also important, and while 500 words are acceptable to Ezine Articles, Matt Cutts recommends a minimum of 600-700 words.

3. Article Marketing and More

Article marketing is still a powerful means of promoting your website or blog. Panda has not buried article marketing as any web search should indicate. How many results do you see attached to Ezine Articles, Amazines, Go Articles and more? Use your eyes and do not believe everything you read or hear.

You can make even better use of your article marketing by posting them on social networking and bookmarking sites such as Digg, StumbleUpon, Reddit, Technorati and Delicious. Post articles and content on social sites including Reddit, delicious, StumbleUpon, Digg and Technorati. Tweet your publication pages and post them on your Facebook page.

There are many ways in which article marketing can be used without worrying about duplicate content. It takes time for this to be removed from the rankings ? use Copyscape to check out where your articles are being published, and you might be surprised.

Finally. . .

Finally, the best advice you can take is to be natural with your SEO content writing and use article marketing to promote your site. When you start up a new website or blog, write an article on the topic and publish it. Google and other search engines will find your links when carrying out routine scanning of the directories. Article marketing is not dead, and the quality of your content writing is finally being recognized. Poor writing standards, on the other hand, is being punished with lower ranking or even demotion to the dreaded ?supplementaries?. Listen to what Google is asking of you!

While article marketing can be very effective in driving traffic to your site, the content writing on that site must compelling enough to keep your visitors on the page. Learn how on Pete?s blog SEO Content and also find out what Google is looking for when it visits your site.
